Colorado State University Esports Weekly #6
This is your weekly update of all happenings within CSU Esports!
Rocket League
A huge week in Collegiate Rocket League saw your CSU Rocket League teams ready for action, and action is what they got. The CSU Rams RL team made it into losers round 3 of the CCA Open #2 before falling to the number 2 seed of the 96 team tournament. This didn’t stop their momentum in their NACE league on monday however, as they were able to bounce right back taking a 3–1 victory over the University of Arizona. This win puts their season record at 3–1 which has them tied for first in their group.
Moving on to CSU Green RL what a week they had as they made a serious run in the losers bracket of the CAA Open #2 beating SCU, Oregon State, and LCU before finally falling to Westcliff in losers round 5. This deep run continues a streak of hot form for CSU Green RL as they rolled into Monday, and over UAA, 3–0 in their league match securing the first place spot in their group.
That’s not all from CSU Rocket League as CSU Gold RL was also in action in their NACE league game as they took down El Camino College 3–2 which improved their own record to 2–1. This result also puts them in joint first place.
Now for Rocket League’s Play of the Week check out this crazy aerial!
Rainbow 6 Siege
The CSU Rainbow 6 Siege run of dominance has finally come to an end. Unfortunately this week all three R6 teams were defeated. Next week they will look to get back to their winning ways as their season continues to move along. Now for this week’s R6 POTW check out this 4k that starts with a crisp, clean lock, as one might say.
That’s not all we have from Rainbow 6 this week however, as I was able to speak with CSU R6 Green member and CSU Esports Competitive President Emma!
Emma and all of the other officers have had quite the impact on the CSU Esports community so make sure to give them their flowers whenever you see them around. That includes your coordinators too!
Valorant
The CSU Valorant Rams team had a huge game this week as they came in prepared to take on UH Alpha with their playoff hopes on the line. Apparently they were so ready to go that they scared off their opponent as UH Alpha forfeited before the match even began. With this result the Rams are in the playoffs! They will be facing PSU Blue so make sure to keep an eye out for that game as their playoff run starts now! Now check out this crazy ace, I’m pretty sure SyntheticRH only knows how to click heads.
CSGO
Your CSGO Rams played two games this week as they matched up against UBC Premier in their Faceit Collegiate game and Oregon State in the NACE Starleague. Both of these matches ended in 2–0 wins for the Rams which now extends their win streak to 4 games. One of the keys to their success in their matchups this week was this wild pistol round that the Rams and specifically Zoroko played out at the start of the second half of their game against Oregon State.
Overwatch
The Overwatch Rams started their Mountain West league play last night as they faced off against Utah State. This exciting matchup unfortunately ended in a 3–0 defeat but the Rams will look to bounce back with next week’s matchup against New Mexico University. Here is a look at the Mountain West Overwatch schedule!
Make sure to tune in and watch your Overwatch Rams play as they aim to climb to the top of the Mountain West. Now check out this week’s Overwatch POTW!
League of Legends
CSU Esports is getting very close to being able to field a full League of Legends roster with a potential group of players planning to play this upcoming weekend. With that being said we are still open to bringing in new players. If you are interested please DM Darlow#3146 on discord.
